Old Delhi through one eye

Question! Can you imagine waking up after an amazing night with sweet dreams. " today is gonna be a good day" you think, and you slowly turn around to wake up your best friend

KABOOOM!

Thats right. kind of sets a stop to your beautiful morning hey?

Problem solved! We fix everything

Today was our first day out in Delhi without our self designated guide, that had to go back to his real work. (thank you so much for sticking with us this long Ritesh!) We were very exited and ready for the challenges Delhi had to offer.

We headed for Old Delhi to see Indias biggest mosque. To get there we had to pass a MASSIVE market

After three hundred offers on shoes, belts, spices, jewelry, watches, budder statues, clothes, naan bread, carpets and anything else you can possible imagine ("special price for you"), we finally reached Jama Masjid.

Not everyone was happy with Lina`s outfit for the day. Massive fail!

Very quickly we decided to evacuate before we got arrested for breaking some kind of clothing rule, and took our shot through a second market. Considering the stares we got and the beggers around, we took the easy way out and jumped in a Ricksaw. BIG success! The driver offered to take us on a tour around Old Delhi, but the poor guy did not know what he was getting himself into.

Also, we are not really the same size as the locals...

After around 1 hour, the driver said he needed a break, and wanted us to come with him to his "break room". We knew we were getting conned, but so what? Thats what we hoped for!

We came down to the biggest, most amazing store we have seen so far. The saleswoman was running around showing us all different kinds of beautiful indian clothing. We were the only ones there and we were allowed to choose anything we wanted and try it all on. We got free food and drinks and had a blast!

As expected, everything was very (!) overprised, but we both feel that you should pay for what you get, and the service we got here was worth a million! Don't underestimate so called "cons", they might just turn out to be worth it!

Our journey with the rickshaw driver ended then in Raj Gaht, the memorial park made for Mahatma Gandhi.

Again, we made some local friends

You think you can pose?

Finally back home! The long day sitting in the back of open TukTuks and Ricksaws didn't improve Ranveigs infected eye.

Solution?

Hopefully Lina wont get the same shock waking up tomorrow!
